PayHero Claude AI Connector: A New Way to Interact with Your Payroll

Payroll holds a lot of important details. How much did we pay the team last month? How many hours did the team work this month compared to last? When did Shania’s employment start? What’s my leave liability? 

Usually you'd open your payroll system to try and track down the right information or report, or attempt to build your own.

But what if you could just ask instead?

Ask Claude about your payroll

The PayHero Claude integration lets you connect your PayHero company to Claude AI using an MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector.

Once connected, Claude can access the PayHero information you've chosen to make available and use that information to answer questions about your payroll.

So instead of navigating through PayHero to find the information you need, you can ask Claude in plain English.

Claude retrieves the relevant information from PayHero and uses it to answer your question.

More than just asking a question

Asking a single-answer question is simple, but the real benefit isn't just being able to ask a question instead of clicking through a screen.

It's being able to ask questions in the way you'd naturally ask them, and follow up conversationally.

You don't need to know the name of a report or exactly where a particular piece of information lives. You can start with a question, see the answer, and ask a follow-up if you want to dig a little deeper.

The more conversational format makes it possible to explore your payroll information without having to start from a specific report or view.

The same applies to visuals. Ask for a chart or report, and Claude builds it from the data already in your account.

It can go further still, pulling together information from across your payroll into a single answer, so you're not checking five different screens to get the full picture.

What is MCP?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It's a standard that allows AI tools like Claude to securely connect to external systems and query the information those systems make available.

We've built an MCP connector for PayHero that creates a secure, read-only connection between Claude and your PayHero company.

When you ask Claude a question, it retrieves the relevant information from PayHero live, on the spot. Nothing is copied into a separate database or used to create a second source of truth. PayHero remains the source of your payroll information.
